Back in February I put a small pond in on the allotment, in the hope it would encourage a slug eating frog to take up residence.
It’s made out of an under bed box from the cheap shop, with a beach of bricks and pebbles built up in it – in case anything falls in and needs to get out – the big stick here was an interim measure. It’s looking much better now – it also has a solar fountain which is working well to aerate the water when it’s plugged in.
He failed to arrive in time to eat the slugs that demolished my lobelia sadly – which is why there’s an empty flower pot in the pond. A pond is a very easy thing to add to a garden and brings all sorts to its banks and depths – I’d recommend giving it a go.
